Apple has begun evaluating the quality of OLED displays for the iPhone 14 from various vendors ahead of mass production, according to South Korean trade publication The Elec.

According to the source, the company is already evaluating OLED panels for the standard 6.1-inch iPhone 14 model, and mass production should start between July and August.

The Elec confirms a recent Omdia report that Chinese display maker BOE has once again received orders from Apple despite previous problems with OLED panels for the iPhone 13. It is worth noting that BOE will only supply 5 million displays for the regular iPhone 14.

Apple is expected to hold a presentation of the iPhone 14 in September.
