This week, the Farnborough International Airshow is taking place in the UK and the aircraft manufacturer Boeing is of course on site there. In the clip above, you can check out when Boeing’s test pilots the other day showed a bit of what their two passenger planes 737 Max 10 and 777-9 actually go for.
Perhaps the most impressive thing about the show, at least for me as a layman in the field, is when the two models rise completely vertically. However, it may not be something that is recommended to do during traditional passenger flights.

The Boeing 737 Max 10 has flown for the first time
The largest Max model that has left the ground so far
Boeing has tested a new model of its Max aircraft and it is the largest Max model that has left Boeing’s factory to date. The Boeing 737 Max 10 has the capacity to fly 230 passengers, which can be compared with the Max 737 Max 9 which can take 178 – 220 passengers. Max 10 is primarily developed to compete with the Airbus A321neo which can take 185 – 240 passengers. However, the A321neo has a range of about 7400 kilometers while the 737 Max 10 has a range of about 6100 kilometers. During its first test flight, the plane spent 2.5 hours in the air. The Boeing 737 Max 10 is expected to start flying in commercial traffic sometime in 2023.

Boeing has tested the 777X
Seems to have gone well
Next year it’s time for Boeing’s new model 777X to start flying and this weekend they made the first real test flight that seemed to go well. For three hours and 51 minutes you flew around before landing again. The 777X is the world’s largest aircraft with two engines. The engines are made by GE and are called GE9X and they will be the strongest jet engines in the world. Despite this, Boeing claims that their aircraft is ten percent more frugal than the competitor, ie Airbus. The 777X comes in two models where the 777-8 has room for 384 people and the 777-9 has room for 426 people.

Boeing 777X tricks a bit at Singapore Airshow 2022
Up in the air all day
After showcasing the 777X in Dubai last November, Boeing was recently in Singapore with the cart and did the same. They drove, among other things, a sharply rising start and some other crisp maneuvers that future passengers will never experience (hopefully). Boeing describes the aircraft with the words “The world’s largest and most efficient twin-engine jet”. Two versions will be offered – 777-8 and 777-9 and the first will have a range of 1601 miles while the 9 will be able to swallow 426 passengers. The 777X has been under development for many years and is still not completely clear. The goal is to launch it in 2024. Bonus clips below.
