After a few months of beta testing iOS 15.6, Apple released the final version of the update to all users. Along with iOS 15.6 came iPadOS 15.6. There aren’t many new iPhone and iPad features in the new versions as Apple is focusing on iOS 16 and iPadOS 16.
Today’s build is numbered 19G71, the same as the second pre-release build released last week. iOS 15.6 is focused on general improvements and bug fixes.
What’s new in iOS 15.6
- The TV app has the ability to restart an already ongoing broadcast of a sports match, pause, rewind or fast forward.
- We fixed an issue where Settings could continue to show that device storage is full even though it is available.
- Fixes an issue that could cause Braille devices to become slow or unresponsive when navigating through text in Mail.
- We fixed an issue in Safari that could cause a tab to return to the previous page.
In addition, Apple Books bug has been fixed in iOS 15.6. Users have reported crashes when trying to open any book in the app.
In addition to iOS 15.6, Apple is releasing iPadOS 15.6, macOS 12.5 watchOS 8.7, and tvOS 15.6, although no noticeable changes have been seen in these updates.
