HTC Chairman Wang Xuehong Appointed as Independent Director of Lenovo Group

IT House June 21 news, yesterday evening, Lenovo Group announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that Ms. Wang Xuehong and Professor Xue Lan have been appointed as independent non-executive directors of the company, effective June 20, 2022.

According to the announcement, Ms. Wang Xuehong, 63 years old, is the co-founder and current chairman of Hongda International Electronics Co., Ltd. (HTC). In 1982, he received a bachelor’s degree in industrial socio-political economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Ms. Wang co-founded HTC in 1997, a multinational electronic product development company that develops products, solutions and platforms in the fields of mobile communications and immersive technology and supplies them globally. Ms. Wang also founded VIA Electronics Co., Ltd. (listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange) in 1992, and is a leading developer in the development of computer platforms to connect enterprises with advanced artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and applications for transportation, industry, smart cities and Computer vision technology for data center applications, etc. He founded and was the chairman of VIA Electronics Co., Ltd. and is currently a director. Before that, he was the general manager of the personal computer department of Dazhong Computer Co., Ltd., assisting the business unit to enter the lucrative motherboard market.

Xue Lan, another independent non-executive director of Lenovo, is currently a professor at Tsinghua University. Co-Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development. His teaching and research areas include public policy and management, technology policy, crisis management and global governance. Xue Lan is currently an independent non-executive director of SenseTime Group Co., Ltd. and Neusoft Group (600718) Co., Ltd., and serves as the vice chairman of the Council of China Science and Technology Policy Research Association, and the National New Generation Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional Committee. Director and member of the Standing Committee of China Association for Science and Technology.

It is worth noting that there are two female independent directors of Lenovo Group, Yang Lan and new Wang Xuehong, who account for 18% of the board members.
