On the evening of June 21st, Beijing time, according to reports, IG Metall, Germany’s largest auto union, said:Tesla’s German plant may need to raise wages to meet hiring targets. It is reported that Tesla Germany has raised salaries for new employees.

IG Metall said it had received multiple reports from employees at Tesla’s Gruenheide plant,Complaining about its lower wages, which could lead to salary disputes.

Birgit Dietze, regional representative for IG Metall’s Berlin, Brandenburg and Saxony divisions, said in a statementTesla Glenhead plant to start production in March 2022, but hiring behind schedule.

Dietzer said:Tesla wants to have around 12,000 employees by the end of the year. To achieve this, management must raise compensation a notch. Dietzer also added that many people are interested in working at Tesla, but their current jobs pay significantly more.

Dieter also said that in order to attract talent,Tesla has started offering higher pay to new hires, which may lead to dissatisfaction among older employees. IG Metall has already received complaints in this regard.

Tesla has yet to comment on this.

Brandenburg State Economy Minister Joerg Steinbach said last week,The current Tesla Glenhead plant is hiring at a rate of 500 to 600 people per month.

At the same time, Tesla is also working with German employment agencies to recruit workers that other German automakers no longer need. So far, Tesla has hired between 4,100 and 4,500 employees, about 10 percent of whom are foreigners, mostly from Poland, Steinbach said.
