Ubisoft made several announcements and updates yesterday as the publisher unveiled its latest financial results. And we learned that a game originally planned for the next few months had been postponed to the next fiscal year.
A new Assassin’s Creed game less ambitious than the last ones?
Ubisoft has achieved slightly better than expected results in recent months and the publisher currently has the largest catalog of games it has ever seen since its creation. However, some games already announced have been canceled. Ghost Recon: Frontline and Splinter Cell VR will therefore never see the light of day, just like two other games of which we are unaware.
Among other announcements, we also learned about the postponement of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to the next fiscal year, between April 2023 and March 2024.
But Ubisoft also specified another postponement, this time from an unknown game. “We have also decided to release a more modest premium game in 2023-24, originally planned for 2022-23”.
Ubisoft will not dwell on this title, but it will now have to wait for April 2023 at the earliest. According to our information, it could be a new Assassin’s Creed game which could have been released at the end of 2022 and before Assassin’s Creed Infinity. Ubisoft has also planned to reveal more information about its series during an event dedicated to Assassin’s Creed next September, we will be there!
