Playstation stays at home.

Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, is back with a physical fair this year after being shut down during the pandemic. But how is the gaming fair, which has long been the largest audience in the world, really feeling? More and more defections cause many to raise their eyebrows.

Most recently, it is Playstation that says they are skipping the event, perhaps because they are rumored to be planning to run their own race in September. The company will also not make any appearances during Geoff Keighley’s (always this Geoff!) Opening ceremony.

Previously, Nintendo, Activision / Blizzard and Take 2 have also announced that they will not be present. Microsoft, which ran a stream with Bethesda during this year’s non-E3, has not announced any presence yet. Namco-Bandai and Embracer will be present. Regardless, it will of course be a big break for the fair if the big ones do not show their products on the fair floor.
