AMD is currently working on an AI-based noise cancellation technology. A video teaser was online for a short time, which referred to the AMD Noise Suppression function. It is explosive that the teaser was accidentally uploaded by AMD itself to the official YouTuber channel.
AMD is currently preparing a new audio function. A teaser refers to a new noise-cancellation method that works with the help of artificial intelligence. The corresponding video was briefly available on AMD’s official YouTube channel. Apparently, however, it was accidentally uploaded, because a short time later the clip disappeared again. But not fast enough, because some users were able to make copies and screenshots of the video.
Late competition for RTX Voice
Almost two years ago, Nvidia presented the beta for the RTX Voice software. Disturbing background noise should be filtered out of the voice chat based on deep learning. The function came at just the right time, because at the beginning of the pandemic many people were bound to work from home and were forced to participate in online meetings for which few were technically prepared.
Apparently AMD is now conjuring up a technology similar to that of the competition from Nvidia with noise suppression. According to the removed video, AMD’s feature should work in a similar way for input and output devices as RTX Voice. AMD will include the new feature in its audio and video tab in the Adrenalin software, which offers even more features.
It is not yet known when AMD Noise Suppression will appear. However, AMD’s video mentioned “available now” for the new feature. This makes it safe to assume that the clip was not supposed to appear until the new adrenaline driver is released.
