If you really want to play Russian teams in FIFA, you have no chance. Already in FIFA 22 the Russian teams were kicked out of the game and in FIFA 23 they don’t even get in.

It’s not a big surprise after EA has already removed the Russian teams from FIFA 22. Now it has been confirmed that there will be no Russian teams in FIFA 23 from the start, of course due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing war.

EA made it clear to colleagues at Eurogamer:

“EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine. In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports will not include the Russian national team or Russian clubs in FIFA 23.”

Earlier parts of FIFA contained the Russian national team as well as some teams, later even the whole Russian league. The deletion should not be particularly noticeable, since Russian teams have already been excluded from real competitions.

FIFA 23 launches on September 30th and finally brings the game up to date with next-gen versions on PC as well.
