IT House News on July 22, according to Yonhap News Agency, LG Energy Solution announced today that based on the market demand for Ford’s pure electric vehicles and commercial vehicles, the company will gradually expand the supply of its power batteries.

LG New Energy will produce batteries for the two electric vehicles from the second half of 2020, while Ford announced at the end of last year that it would strive to more than triple production of the “Mustang Mach-E” by 2023.

In this case, LG New Energy plans to triple the size of the production line at the Polish battery plant by next year, and will continue to add production lines after that.

The agreement is part of Ford’s plan to invest $50 billion in electric vehicle development by 2026 and produce more than 2 million electric vehicles annually, LG said in a statement.

Ford aims to increase the share of electric vehicles in its total sales to more than 50 percent by 2030, the company said.

IT House has reported that Ford Motor and Ning’s Times have confirmed an agreement, and the two parties will carry out global strategic cooperation. From next year, the Mustang Mach-E in North America will introduce Ningde’s lithium iron phosphate battery.

In addition to CATL, Ford also has a partnership with LG Energy Solutions and long-term battery partner SK Innovation. As a result, LG Energy Solutions has also said it will supply more batteries to U.S. automaker Ford to boost the company’s global production of electric vehicles.

“By 2023, LG Energy plans to double the battery production line allocated to Ford at the Polish plant and further expand the production line according to demand,” LG Energy said in a statement on the same day.

It is reported that LG Energy has been supplying batteries to the Ford Focus Electric since 2011. The company has been supplying batteries for Ford’s all-electric Mustang Mach-e SUV and E-Transit since late 2020.
