IT House June 22 news, Apple Apple Watch allows users to do many things without an iPhone, such as listening to songs, reading and sending messages, and even answering calls. But if users want to do something else, like watch videos, they may need a phone.

Now with the launch of the WatchTube third-party app, users can watch YouTube videos directly on the Apple Watch, and it works just fine.

The WatchTube app doesn’t require any complicated setup, not even from an iPhone. Users can download WatchTube directly from the watchOS app store and use it. Once the app is installed on the Apple Watch, just open it and watch YouTube videos.

While YouTube is complicated, the watch app’s interface looks surprisingly good. Users will find four different sections within the app. Home, Search, Library and Settings.Just like the official YouTube app, the homepage shows videos that are trending on the platform. The app also allows to select specific video categories to display on the homepage.

WatchTube’s built-in search works especially well with the Apple Watch Series 7 keyboard. Of course, users can also use dictation and doodles to search for videos in the app. Just like the real YouTube, WatchTube searches highlight the top results for videos, as well as channels.

With WatchTube, users can even subscribe to channels and save videos to find them in the library tab. It’s important to note that WatchTube’s video library is entirely local, which means users can’t connect to a YouTube account. However, the app provides a QR code that allows users to share and access specific videos on another device, such as an iPhone or iPad device.

In addition to these features, WatchTube also supports video subtitles and even supports changing the text size. Videos can be quickly loaded onto the Apple Watch, and if users don’t have AirPods or Bluetooth headphones, the app can also use the Apple Watch’s built-in speakers to output sound.

WatchTube developers say a future update will add an audio-only mode so users can listen to YouTube songs in the background without having to keep the Apple Watch display on.

WatchTube is available as a free download on the App Store and supports Apple Watches running watchOS 6 or later.
