The author of the DIY Perks YouTube channel did not wait for the release of the Sony PlayStation 5 Slim and assembled his own thin version of the console. The result is impressive, if you do not take into account the power supply.
The blogger dismantled the standard PlayStation 5 and replaced all the components to get rid of the bulky dimensions of the console. He used similar parts and some custom solutions, including a rather miniature console body that is only 1.9 centimeters thick.
The only unresolved problem for the enthusiast was the huge power supply and cooling system of the console. The blogger had to build his own water cooling system and put the power supply in a separate thin case that can be placed behind the TV or under the table.
As it turned out, its cooling system was even more efficient than the standard PS5. This is evidenced by measurements of the heating temperature of various parts of the console in Horizon Forbidden West.
Unfortunately, Perks’ PS5 Slim is a one-of-a-kind console, and repeating the blogger’s experiment will be a very difficult task. Regular gamers will have to wait until Sony officially releases a thin version of the new curling iron.
