No release together with the new film, that is.
The Swedish and Ubisoft-owned studio Massive Entertainment revealed in 2021 Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. We didn’t get to see any gameplay, but what was shown at least had impressive detail and the world looked inviting to say the least. Just a few months ago, Ubisoft wrote in its full-year report that the game would be released before March 31, 2023, but in a quarterly report, they have now changed this to “2023/2024”.
They say they want to deliver a state-of-the-art, immersive experience that takes full advantage of next-gen technology, as it is a global brand in entertainment values that they see as a multi-year opportunity for Ubisoft. Furthermore, they point out that this delay – as well as the delay of an unannounced, less premium game that would have been released in 2022/2023 – is a reflection of the current production issues across the industry.
