Naughty Dog surprised a few days ago by announcing the arrival of a new remake of The Last of Us. Called The Last of Us Part 1, it will be a complete remake of the first part of the saga dedicated to Sony’s PS5.
The idea for the studio is thus to bring its saga up to date and to offer a more homogeneous and next gen experience for the 2 parts.
Naughty Dog clarified to start from scratch on the models, in order to indeed offer a completely different and new generation game, but also to propose some changes in the gameplay and the functioning of the title.
The title will benefit from the contributions of the DualSense controller, will offer 3D audio… The promise is great and Naughty Dog seems to have gone to great lengths and means to offer a completely new experience of its successful title.
However, the case has turned into a mini-scandal since we learned that the title will be offered in a standard edition with the expansion The Left Behind at a price of €79.99… Currently, only Sony charges this price with its exclusives PS5.
The Deluxe edition which will offer in-game bonuses will be offered at €89.99. Far too high prices for players, including for the first hour fans who express their dissatisfaction on Reddit and social networks.
For some, the bill is all the more difficult to pass since they have already bought the game on PS3, then returned to the cash register for the remastered PS4 in 2014…
So certainly, the title is not a simple remaster and has been redone from scratch, but it seems that the symbolic bar of 70€ is still very difficult to pass among players.
