It’s hardly the only shark sighting in the Empire State in recent days, causing plenty of concerns for swimmers looking for a break from the summer heat. Around 9:30 a.m. on July 20, the Quogue Village police responded to a report of a dead shark on the beach near Dune Road. The shark was 7- to 8-feet in length and was reported by a resident.
