The Chinese video-sharing service TikTok has agreed to boost compliance with EU consumer regulations after complaints over hidden advertising for children, the European Commission announced on Tuesday. Social media platforms have to “make sure that consumers can easily identify commercial content, including when promoted by influencers,” EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders said in a statement.
