Many of you enjoyed Immortals Fenyx Rising when it was released in 2020 and everything suggests that a new game is well in the works. According to the indiscretions of journalist Jeff Grubb, it would be a spin-off based on Polynesian culture.

A sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising in the works

We know Immortals Fenyx Rising producer Andrée-Anne Boisvert has been working on a new, unannounced project for over a year now. And last March, journalist Tom Henderson said that Ubisoft had been very satisfied with the game’s sales and that a sequel was well in development.

Today, it’s Jeff Grubb who adds water to the mill and says that a new game is well planned, but that it is a spin-off rather than a real sequel. The code name of the project would be “Oxygen” and we would embody, at your choice, a hero or a heroine.

Still according to the same sources, this new title would move away from Greek mythology to focus on Hawaiian Polynesian culture. The idea would be to keep a very marked artistic style, but less “copied” than what we saw between Immortals Fenyx Rising and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

According to Jeff Grubb, Ubisoft would internally evoke a “visual reboot” and the game would still only be in the pre-production phase, with a release around 2025. We will therefore have to wait a little longer before discovering it.
