By Alex Lang New York (Knewz) — A week ago, the nation instituted a new simper number for the national suicide hotline. It seems to have worked as there has been a massive spike in calls. There were about 30,000 more calls, texts and chats in the week since the hotline moved to a “988” number, according to a report in the Hill. The number used to be much longer. But it moved to a more 911-like number. The report noted that last week, the hotline received about 96,000 calls and texts. That is up from 66,000 the week before.
