Samsung’s A-Series has sold worse than expected, which is said to be the main reason why Samsung has more mobiles than usual in stock. This is stated by the South Korean publication The Elec, which refers to leaked information. According to them, Samsung currently has just over 50 million mobiles in stock, and the main reason is said to be that the Galaxy A models have sold worse than expected. The sources that The Elec has talked about say that the company plans to deliver 270 million mobile phones this year and usually aims to have a stock that amounts to about ten percent of the total number, not almost twenty percent as now.
Samsung is also said to have cut back on mobile phone production, from 20 million units a month in January and February to 10 million in May.
Reasons for the decline in demand are said to be the war in Ukraine, covid-19 outbreaks with associated shutdowns in China and rising commodity prices.
