Isolation finally unveil Hyenas, a zero-g multiplayer FPS

After a few years of teasing, The Creative Assembly (Total War, Alien Isolation) finally unveils its multiplayer FPS which is supposed to bring some freshness to the sphere of competitive shooters: Hyenas.

Well, the freshness forgot to show itself in this first announcement trailerbecause it could very well be a new short film from Apex Legends. But apart from its Hero Shooter mechanics, Hyenas especially promises games in zero g.

In a more-than-probable future where Elon Musk and other billionaires have all gone to Mars, life on Earth is not really an idyll: anti-gravity technology who enabled this space feat destroyed part of the planet, and the survivors are now piled up on a big floating slum appointed the pit.

This is where the theme of the robbery comes into play: the poor richous are nostalgic for their former life on Earth and collect as many relics from the Old World as possible to send them to Mars. Between Rubik’s cubes, PEZ dispensers and even Megadrivesall pop culture going on, and it would seem that Sega succeeded in finding the right idea to prepare the ground for future lucrative partnerships.

Like a Hunt: Showdown or a Escape From Tarkov, 5 teams of 3 players will therefore have to fight their way through the guards to get their hands on the precious booty. Still a semi-Battle Royaletherefore, although Sega strongly indicates that this is not the case.

This is an amazing new title from the team that took care from Alien: Isolationand which has yet to prove itself, agrees the executive producer David Nicholson :

In effect, inscriptions for a first phase of alpha of Hyenas are already open… which means that you will have to wait a little longer to enjoy first gameplay footage. If the alpha will take place of course on pc (at a date still unknown), Hyenas is also slated for full release on Xbox and PlayStation consoles in the current of 2023.
