South Korea has now given permission for North Korean media to be released in the country. This means that South Koreans can easily get hold of both North Korean television and North Korean newspapers.
South Korea wants the lifting of this blockade to promote mutual understanding between the countries. They also hope that North Korea will lift its blockade of South Korean media. Now it’s not really very likely that it will happen, but it’s nice to hope.
