While the upcoming Saints Row reboot supports cross-generational co-op, cross-platform play is not.
Next month the Saints Row series will celebrate its restart after years of abstinence with the Saints Row Reboot.
A big plus point that distinguished older offshoots of the series is the co-op mode, which lets players play the entire campaign together.
However, there is a small catch. As a Deep Silver spokesperson recently explained, while Saints Row reboot players will be able to play cross-gen with their friends, cross-platform play will not be possible.
In plain language: Co-op between Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One or PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 is possible, but not with players outside of your own console family. It is unclear whether this also affects the PC version of the gangster title.
Saints Row Reboot is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Stadia and PC on August 23, 2022.
