iOS 16 beta 2 and iPadOS 16 beta 2 are now available to developers two weeks after iOS 16 was officially unveiled at WWDC. iOS 16 brings a number of new features, including the biggest update to the iPhone lock screen, updated notifications, new messaging features, and more. Below you will find full details on what to expect from iOS 16 beta 2.

iOS 16 beta 2 is here

Apple announced iOS 16 at WWDC two weeks ago, simultaneously releasing the first developer beta. Throughout the summer, Apple will release new beta versions of iOS 16 ahead of its public release sometime in September.

Each new iOS 16 beta is likely to bring a significant amount of changes, bug fixes, and even new features. Apple is closely monitoring the feedback it receives from iOS 16 beta testers, and each subsequent beta release is directed towards complaints, bug reports, and performance issues.

iOS 15 beta 2 is now rolling out to developers along with iPadOS 15 beta 2. Updates can be found by going to the Settings app, selecting General, and then selecting Software Update. Because if the update doesn’t immediately show up for download, keep checking back as it sometimes takes a few minutes to roll it out to all registered developers.

The build number for today’s updates is 20A5303i.

Keep in mind that iOS 16 is currently only available to registered developer beta testers. The update will launch to public beta testers sometime in July, and will be released to the general public in September. Testers should still expect performance and stability issues when running the iOS 16 beta on mainstream devices at this time.
