IT House June 22 news, Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess (Herbert Diess) attended today’s Qatar Economic Forum and delivered a speech.
Diess said that Volkswagen is working on areas such as battery production, charging infrastructure and software to close the gap with Tesla in electric vehicle sales. “We are now in a good position after Tesla. Over the next few months, we can close the gap little by little.”
Diess said that the limiting factor in the development of the electric vehicle industry will be the battery.
In addition, Diess said it will take 10 years for automakers to become 90 percent self-sufficient in software. He also pointed out that the limiting factor for the development of electric vehicles will be batteries, and although supply chain issues including semiconductors have improved somewhat, we still need a stronger supply chain in the future.
IT House has reported that he is worried that Russia will cut off gas supplies to Europe; the short-term backup plan is to replace gas with coal, but in the long run it is renewable energy; Volkswagen has not had direct talks with Qatar to increase Qatar’s supply to Germany LNG supply.
Diess also revealed that Porsche will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2022.
