Apple is launching an assault on Spotify Sessions with a new format for its streaming service: Apple Music Sessions offers exclusive concerts recorded in the manufacturer’s own studios.
Apple Music continues to improve its live music offering. The streaming platform thus offers sessions by Carrie Underwood and Tenille Townes, captured live at the service’s recording studio in Nashville, Tennessee. A city recognized worldwide for being the capital of country!
More genres to come
These two exclusive recordings include three titles each, in audio and video. The pieces come from the artists’ own repertoire or from other singers. Apple Music obliges, the emphasis is on spatial audio which allows you to enjoy enveloping music.
” Being in the studio with Apple Music was an amazing experience “, explains Carrie Underwood. ” I’m excited to share these unique and clean versions of three songs I love with my fans. “, she adds. Titles reinvented to offer them in a ” different way “. Country fans will surely appreciate, others will discover obviously very clean recordings that benefit from a careful production.
Other Apple Music sessions recorded at the Nashville studio will be offered. But the manufacturer also plans other recordings captured in its studios around the world. There is one in New York, London, Los Angeles and since the end of last year, in Paris. We must therefore expect other genres than country…
Apple is trying here to catch up with the lead taken by Spotify and its own exclusive sessions, recorded in London, Milan, New York or even during festivals. The two streaming platforms are engaged in head-on competition, each with its arguments: content for Spotify (with podcasts, in particular), technology for Apple Music (spatial audio and lossless quality).
