AMD has released the source code for FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 to allow more developers to take advantage of this technology.

AMD announced full support of FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 for the Xbox Series X back in March 2022, but console support has been slow. This could change abruptly, because now the source code of the technology has been released for all developers.

AMD announces, “Following the recent release of the first games powered by AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0, our next-generation temporal upscaling technology, we have now reached another important milestone for FSR – the technology’s first anniversary! And to celebrate, we have some exciting announcements to make. First off, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR 1.0 and FSR 2.0) is now available and used in over 110 games! Additionally, we are also releasing the FSR 2.0 API on GPUOpen for developers to integrate into games.”

“The adoption rate of AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution is simply amazing. Since launching in 2021 with just 7 games supporting FSR 1.0, a year later we have an incredible 110+ available and upcoming games supporting both FSR 1.0 and FSR 2.0.”

“In addition, plugins for Unreal Engine 4 and 5 will be available soon to make integration as easy as possible for developers using Unreal. Additionally, FSR 2.0 is also supported on Xbox and will be available in the Xbox GDK for registered developers to use in their games.”
