Svyaznoy received the first batch of iPhones through parallel imports. Price tags upset

The Russian retailer Svyaznoy confirmed the import of the first batch of electronics using the parallel import method. It is reported by “Kommersant”.

According to the source, the first batch of goods imported by Svyaznoy through parallel imports includes Samsung smartphones and smart watches, the latest Apple iPhone line, as well as Sony PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo game consoles. In total, the company reported on the expansion of the range by more than a hundred positions due to the devices that it brought using the new method. At the same time, the president of Svyaznoy notes that the “pre-crisis” stocks of goods should be enough for another 2-3 months.

For all electronics imported by parallel imports, Svyaznoy provides an official guarantee in accordance with Russian law. The retailer assures that there will be no problems with the activation and functionality of the devices, since all of them are designed to work in the EAEU countries.

Previously, warranty service was carried out by a service center, which will do this now. Only now it will not be the brand manufacturer that will pay for repairs, but the import intermediary company. As for the prices for devices, Svyaznoy notes that they will be about 20% higher than for the same models officially imported before the end of February 2022.
