FATXplorer is a simple storage device explorer for Xbox 360 consoles, the tool has been optimized for speed and ease of use. This tool supports a wide range of devices without capacity limit on Xbox 360 namely:

– XDK (XDK) hard drives for retail consoles and development.

– Xbox 360 internal and external memory drives.

– Xbox 360 USB devices.

– Score files.

With full support for every partition on a multitude of devices, you can discover hidden system files, reformat devices, and even speed up the Xbox LIVE experience with optimized system folders. The files contained in the console are organized in a binary format not recognizable by any operating system. FATXplorer fills this gap and provides the access key to all data, as well as game saves.

The tool explores all storage devices of both Microsoft Xbox Original and Xbox 360 consoles, with support for internal hard drives up to 16TB.

This new v3.0 Beta 21 release introduces a much requested feature from the Xbox OG console community, support for locking and unlocking FATXplorer. Indeed alternative solutions have been found to allow the sending of limited commands on the SATA and USB interface.

The interface has been redesigned, and compatibility with certain USB devices has been improved.

v3.0.0.24040 (Beta 21)

Published on: June 21, 2022

– This version comes with an announcement message.

– FATXplorer can finally lock and unlock OG Xbox hard drives! Use new hard drive security tools to manage security status. Locked hard drives are now detected and you will be prompted to unlock them before you can load partitions. See the announcement post for more details.

– Removed Microsoft.AppCenter dependency, thus removing 9 DLLs from install/download.

– Improved visibility of selected text in text boxes.

– Added a new time remaining estimate to the formatting tools progress bar, mainly to help with larger preloads and clean formats.

– Added a new “Current Xbox Format” label to devices in formatting tools. – It will tell you if the device is already formatted for Xbox or Xbox 360.

– At the request of the Cerbios team, the configuration of the default partition when formatting disks for Cerbios has been updated. Instead of configuring 927.78 GB of space for partitions F, G and 8-14, the space will now be evenly distributed between F and G. It is still possible to configure all partitions manually.

– Fixed issue where partition G on some Cerbios hard drives did not appear as a mountable partition.

– Fixed issue where devices without interface type value (SD cards/readers) were not detected.

– Removed “Unknown sector format” error. FATXplorer will now try to accommodate any sector size for its I/O operations.

– When selecting a preloaded zip or folder, all files will now be checked at that time instead of being checked during the formatting process. This way, you will have the chance to delete any problematic files, instead of having to go through the whole formatting process again.

– Added a new note to the XL USB Apply Patches window regarding an issue with some games.

– When a partition is mounted, the tooltip of the device tile now includes the drive letter.

– FATXplorer now reads the name.txt file on new format Xbox 360 USBs and uses it as the device name (if it exists).

– Removed “Use Extra Memory” option when loading devices. A better solution has been implemented with the same performance and almost no additional memory usage.

– The expiry date has been changed to September 8, 2022.

– Updated driver to v20.0.8181. A potential BSOD issue has been resolved. Driver updates may require a reboot.
