The Cinema Side, what does it consist of?

Fairly underdeveloped for more than a year, Côté Ciné will become part of the Next Stage DNA in the years to come. I explain to you how, why and what all this will look like!

Now that this is said to avoid having it, in a certainly less polite way, in the comments, we can start!

Next Stage is expanding. If we now have people on Genshin, specialists in generalist news, Mike who rides on Destiny improving day after day… There is one thing that has not been very pampered for months: the appearance cinema and series.

So I decided to tackle it. I don’t give up on video games, I always cover what touches my interests, like Diablo, Overwatch or Warhammer to name a few, but now I’m going to touch cinema and series more than before. It’s the result of a long reflection that started a few months ago and the absolute fed up of playing Destiny!

I had to go away a bit since June and it’s with a much freer spirit that I come back, with the aim of developing this cinematic aspect of Next Stage. This places me de facto in a somewhat outsider position compared to the rest of the team, but the autonomy is unparalleled.

So no. I am not a specialist. I have no studies related to the film industry, I am purely self-taught in the field. I first started by following people whose cinema is the heart of activity on YouTube like Durendalthe Gravedigger, Guillaume Cassar, Nexus VI and many others as simple satisfaction for my morbid curiosity.

Thus, by rubbing shoulders with this area, I ended up learning its codes and its symbols, its mythology and its habits and customs. Since then I have never stopped wanting to learn more and more. So I learned alone the ratios and their meaning, why we choose a shoulder plane for a character…

In short, without going into details, I constantly train myself in the different forms of technicality that cinematography offers and if, today, I cannot call myself an expert (and probably never will be), I write truly with all my heart as I keep enriching the mind. The film side will be a matter of progressiveness above all, a progressiveness commensurate with mine in my learning. Thus, you will see different types of articles:

• Movie Review, which will focus on the review of a recent cinema film. Inside you will find the different parts of the article which will look at as many aspects of the film as its history, its technique or its themes. You already got a good look at that in Thor – Love & Thunder recently.

• Critical Seriessame thing as above except that it will be the report of a season of series or of a whole series if it is already finished.

• Cinema Archives : We go back in time! Make way for the 80s, Hawaiian shirts and mustaches topped with Ray Ban Aviators! We are going to come back to films and series that have a few years on the clock. What to see the cinema before while remembering that yes, you are old.

• Technical side, this will be an article that will focus on a technique of cinema. Framing, make-up, equipment… Regularly, you will discover behind the scenes and how things work.

So here’s the base we’ll start with. And depending on the ideas, we could well see all this expand even more!
