Hi all! The middle of summer is the gaming industry in deep recess, so there are few events. But we still found for you a couple of recent news from the gaming industry of the past week, as well as new trailers and games that are coming out next week.
What happened?
save money
Not the most positive news came from Ubisoft: due to a change in the financial situation, the company canceled and rescheduled several projects. In addition to two unannounced games, Splinter Cell VR, introduced in September 2020, went under the knife, as well as the shareware battle royale Ghost Recon Frontline, the announcement of which in October 2021 was met negatively by players.
The game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has undergone a transfer – its release is now expected after April 2023, as well as an unannounced premium project. According to journalist Jason Schreier, this was the very Rift – a story-driven single player game in the Assassin’s Creed universe, which was supposed to close the gap in the company’s release schedule. On the one hand, the news is not very pleasant, but on the other hand, perhaps Ubisoft will focus more attention on the remaining projects and they will come out interesting and of high quality.
Well buy
Naughty Dog has released a 10-minute video to explain why you have to pay to remake the first The Last of Us as a new game. Before that, the introductory video and screenshots were leaked to the network, after which many players did not understand why they were asking for $ 70 for this, and not 40, as for a regular remaster.
Like any other remake, The Last of Us Part I will feature resolutions up to 4K, frame rates up to 60 fps, and HDR. Along with this, they will increase the detail of models and animations, as well as the number of details and objects in the frame, which in turn refreshed the levels, but did not change their structure.
Separately, the developers are talking about improving the AI: enemies and comrades will begin to behave more meaningfully and better respond to the situation. For enthusiasts, The Last of Us Part I will have a single life game mode and the ability to display a timer (for speedrunners). Well, where without clothes – for Ellie and Joel it will be possible to unlock new clothes. Everything is clear about 3D audio and tactile feedback – this is added to all PlayStation 5 exclusives. The Last of Us Part I should be released on September 2 on PS5 and later on PC.
More than alive
While Rockstars and fans are burying Red Dead Online, GTA Online is about to release a new major update. The Criminal Enterprises will add high fuel prices, suffocating heat, and the opportunity to cash in on it all. The International Affairs Agency has taken an interest in a corrupt family in the petrochemical industry. Alone or in a group of up to four people, you have to bring them to clean water. As always, the new addition is new tasks, cars, guns and a lot of different activities. And they also promise to increase payments for robberies and simplify treatment on the go. The Criminal Enterprises update is due out next week on July 26th.
Protect nature
The creators of Warframe have unveiled their new game – Soulframe. Despite the similarity in name, Soulframe is a new universe. This is a fantasy shareware MMORPG inspired by Princess Mononoke – the central character will be the world and nature, which are very unhappy with the actions of people. As for the gameplay, everything is pretty close to Warframe here: procedurally generated networks of caves, an emphasis on PvE combat and close combat, except that the pace will be slower. Soulframe does not have a release date, but there is a trailer with a bare booty, apparently, of the main character.
