Currently, the indications seem to be growing that we can indeed look forward to a new “State of Play” episode in the near future, on which the final release date of “God of War: Ragnarök” will be revealed. An insider brought up a possible date for the “State of Play”.

Even though those responsible at Sony Interactive Entertainment and the developers at Sony Santa Monica Studios have repeatedly assured in recent months that “God of War: Ragnarök” will definitely be released in 2022, a specific release date is still a long way off.

As the usually well-informed industry insider Tom Henderson reported earlier this week, a new iteration of the State of Play format will take place over the coming week, which will be used to bring us new gameplay scenes from the sequel while also bringing the God of War: Ragnarok release date revealed.

While an official statement on Henderson’s statements is still pending, the references to the upcoming “State of Play” seem to be condensing.

Insider names possible date for the State of Play

The insider and leaker “The Snitch”, who has always been available for correct predictions in the past, spoke up with a possible date for the new “State of Play” edition. As “The Snitch” states, the “State of Play” with “God of War: Ragnarök” should take place on June 30, 2022 and thus in the coming week. Cory Barlog, the responsible game director behind “God of War” from 2018, fueled the rumors and published a meaningful gif via Twitter.

So we may find out more in the coming days. In development at Sony Santa Monica Studios, God of War: Ragnarok is set to bring the Norse Mythology story of Kratos to a compelling ending. According to new game director Eric Williams, we can look forward to “a gripping finale that feels as surprising as it is inevitable.”
