IT House July 24 news, last October, Microsoft launched the Windows 11 system, and all Win10 users can upgrade for free. But only recently has Microsoft started offering Windows 11 licenses to DIY retail users.

Today, PCMag found that Microsoft has added some new Windows 11 purchase options, starting 1 with a Windows 11 retail offering for DIY users and custom PC makers. Of course, Microsoft doesn’t even have any publicity for this, so we can’t say exactly when it will be added. But a look at some of the previous archives revealed that the page didn’t have those options until at least May of this year.

IT Home has learned that Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro currently sell for $139 and $199.99, respectively, which is the same as Microsoft’s current pricing for Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro. After purchase, you can download the system image file by yourself.

Of course, you can also choose to buy a Win10 certificate and then upgrade to Win11 by yourself, but it will take a lot of time. For DIY users who want to install Windows 11 directly on their new computer, this direct download and installation method will save time.

Windows 11 has begun to receive more attention in recent months, since Microsoft addressed some of the much-discussed bugs and flaws. Judging from the results of the Steam hardware and software survey, the share of Win11 has continued to rise rapidly recently, and exceeded 20% for the first time last month.

It is worth mentioning that Windows 11 has hard requirements for PC hardware, TPM, and secure boot, which are not available to all users, but may be more suitable for users who have recently installed the machine.

At present, Intel’s 12th-generation Alder Lake CPU using hybrid architecture has a new scheduling mode on Win11, which can better utilize the design of large and small cores to exert stronger performance. Of course, that should be the case when Intel’s 13th-generation Raptor Lake hits the market in October this year, and Microsoft will also launch a new-generation 22H2 version for Windows 11 by then.
