One man died as a result of a homicide in Newark early Saturday morning, officials said. The 31-year-old was killed at about 12:25 a.m. on the 300 block of New Street, said Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Fennelly, from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Fennelly did not disclose the victim’s identity. No arrests have been made, but the case remains a “very active investigation,” Fennelly said. More information was not released.
