Lying down to lose weight is not a dream The latest research: 1 hour more sleep a day is equivalent to eating one less fried chicken leg
Friends, sleeping more can really help you lose weight. Years of daydreams have finally come true!
A clinical medical study published in the “Journal of the American Medical Association” showed that,An extra 1.2 hours of sleep in adults can reduce daily energy intake by 270 kcal.
In other words, as long as you can insist on sleeping for more than 3 years, you can lose about 12 kilograms.
Sleeping to lose weight, isn’t this more fragrant than rolling iron and running? (manual dog head)
Lose weight with sleep?
The research results come from a medical clinical trial at the University of Chicago School of Medicine and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The purpose of the experiment was to investigate the effect of sleep duration on the energy intake of overweight adults in a normal home environment.
The researchers used randomised controlled clinical trials (RCTs) commonly used in the medical field to randomly group study subjects, and then perform different interventions in different groups to observe the differences in experimental results.
The whole process is like this:
The research team randomly selected 210 experimental subjects, and then finally left 80 experimental samples according to restrictions and personal wishes.
The 80 experimental samples, from various social groups and ethnic groups, consisted of 41 males and 39 females, aged 21-40, with a BMI index (body mass index, BMI=weight/height squared) at 25 -29.9 is overweight.
At the same time, the people selected into the sample have one thing in common: lack of sleep, with an average sleep time of 5.5-6.5 hours per day.
After determining the sample, the researchers divided the sample into 2 groups: the control group (habitual sleep group)/prolonged sleep group.
The experimental period was set to 4 weeks, which was divided into 2 stages before and after, and each stage lasted for 2 weeks.
In the first 2 weeks, the two groups of samples were as usual, living according to the previous daily diet and sleep habits, so as to obtain the basic data of the samples before the intervention.
After 2 weeks, the research team began to intervene in the extended sleep group. Through special sleep counseling and advice, the sleep duration of the extended group was increased from less than 6.5 hours to between 7-8 hours.
It should be noted that the research team only intervenes in the sleep time of the experimental samples, and everything else is business as usual.
After 14 days, it was time to witness the miracle:
The research team calculated the energy consumption and energy storage of the experimental samples to obtain the energy intake. For the samples of the extended group after sleep intervention, according to the Hall dynamic prediction model, the average sleep duration increased by 1.2 hours, which can reduce the energy intake. The amount is 270 kcal.
270 kcal, which is almost the calories of a fried chicken leg.
In other words, if you can stick to it for 3 years, you can lose about 12 kg in weight.
The control group, who did not receive the intervention, gained 1 pound (about 453.5 grams) in two weeks.
In short, if you want to be slim and sleep more, you will gain weight if you don’t get enough sleep.
Without further ado, I’m going to make up for a weight loss sleep first.
