Apple should soon renew its iPad Pro to equip it with an M2 chip, as well as wireless charging. Three new versions are expected, but only two would see the light of day in 2022. A new model, completely new, would be released in early 2023.

Despite the economic situation and the shortage of components, Apple has a busy schedule in 2022. In addition to new software, the Cupertino company is stocking up on new products. The WWDC, organized in early June, confirmed this trend, with the presentation of an M2 chip directly integrated into the 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. The first feedback on this SoC is enthusiastic and the iPad Pro should soon benefit from it.

Apple continues to want to keep a certain distance between its tablets and its laptops. The two products, however, have a common basis since the integration of the M1 chip on the iPad Pro or iPad Air. While the M2 chip is making its debut on Macs, Apple would take advantage of its end-of-year conference to announce iPad Pro equipped with an M2 chip. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman recently confirmed that Apple is working on an update to its 11- and 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

These new models would see the light of day in September or October and would not be content to integrate the M2 chip. For this new version, Apple would also add MagSafe charging as on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. The arrival of a wireless charging system is one of the most anticipated new features on the tablet. Apple would improve the photo configuration of its high-end tablet, without further details. Currently, there is a main sensor of 12 megapixels and an ultra wide-angle of 10 megapixels. If the interest is more limited on a tablet, the firm could be tempted to establish its domination by improving this point.

And the 14-inch iPad Pro?

In addition to the current versions, Apple is reportedly planning to launch a new 14.1-inch iPad Pro. This model would also carry an M2 chip and 16 GB of basic RAM. As we reported a few weeks ago, this big iPad Pro might not launch at the same time as its smaller siblings. It is rumored that it could wait until the beginning of 2023 before arriving on the market.
