Gentler Streak wants to be empathetic towards your fitness goals. But how does he plan to do it? The Apple Watch app is preparing a new unique Go Gentler feature that will recommend daily activities based on your workout history. interviewed Gentler Streak founder Katarina Lotrich about the future of the app and how watchOS 9 can impact and help users in a softer future.

Starting with watchOS 9, the upcoming Apple Watch operating system will be the biggest update in years. Not only does it end support for the Apple Watch Series 3, but it fully embraces large screens, updates the Workout app, and opens up new opportunities for developers.

For Lotrich, Gentler Streak will be able to take advantage of new APIs like WeatherKit and new sleep tracking data.

“We are really looking forward to WeatherKit because in the future we will be able to make suggestions based on the weather. If it’s raining outside, we don’t recommend running outdoors. We will also add weather and temperature information after you finish your workout,” she says. “Sleep tracking can be handy. Gentler Streak will be able to understand how well you slept and will give you general recommendations.”

Also, as we’ve covered on Apple, Apple is updating the Workout app on watchOS 9. Not only does it bring a lot of new data, but it also adds a heart rate zone metric, which is one of its most important features. Gentler Streak app for the Apple Watch, but while Apple provides more data, the company doesn’t help interpret it the way Lotrich’s app does.

“Apple, by adding heart rate zones, reinforces our concept, shows that we are moving in the right direction, but our goal is very specific, since Gentler Streak evolves depending on the level of your physical activity, which is not in the Workout app,” she says. “In the future, we will also add new screens so that users can see more data with the Digital Crown.

If you’re unfamiliar, Gentler Streak has an activity path where you can see if you’re trying too hard or if you can increase your workout on a daily basis. With a heart rate zone metric, it shows in real time on your wrist how your fitness is.

“It’s okay, you can rest,” Go Gentler’s goal is compassion.

GO Gentler feature

While Apple is focused on closing the circles of activity, Gentler Streak wants you to take care of your health and fitness.

I think the world is hungry for someone to tell you that it’s okay to rest, because rest is not the same as quitting smoking. Rest is just as important as activity, self-compassion.

The founder of Gentler Streak is talking about this because next week the app is preparing Go Gentler, a powerful new feature that recommends daily activities based on the user’s exercise history, exclusively reported by . “This is a completely unique feature because it learns from you. There are five suggestions, and the most suitable is listed first, and sometimes it will be rest. You’ll always know what activity is right for the day, and you can start your workout on your Apple Watch.”

Upon release next week, Gentler Streak plans to add a new tab to the iPhone app called Heart.

It will be all about your respective metrics and trends, and you can connect the dots between your body and how you feel. We plan to introduce rest, Vo2 Max, period, sleep, but [this] depends on how useful and helpful these metrics can be to the user.

iOS 16 Lock Screen

Last but not least, Gentler Streak is already working on lock screen widgets for the iOS 16 update coming this fall. In addition, after the launch of watchOS 9, various widgets and difficulties will appear.
