There have been rumors about one lately second season of the hit series Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi. A few weeks ago it became known that this should already be planned internally. According to the rumours, key figures in the Star Wars cosmos are always being asked when and if there will be a second season. These people also include Kathleen KennedyProducer and President of Lucasfilm. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight website, which also included producer Deborah Chow, she was specifically asked about future seasons. While Chow remains reserved in her statements, Kennedy seems a bit more explicit in her statements. For example, Chow reiterated that a good one would be needed for a continuation of the series. Kennedy, on the other hand, expressed the following:

Is there a season 2 coming?

To be honest we had planned [Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi] to make it a limited series. But I think people are very invested and want to see more of Obi-Wan, so we’re definitely going to look into that because fans are clearly telling us that. And if we’re like, ‘OK, there’s an actual reason to do this, it’s about answering the how’, then we’re going to do it. But we have to wait.

The desire for a second season comes not only from fans of the series, but also indirectly from Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor. Based on their recent statements, the question was specifically asked of Deborah Chow and Kathleen Kennedy. The question now is if and when there will be official information about a second season.

After all, no one has officially confirmed 100 percent that a second season will be produced. But the probability of this project does not decrease by statements made by Kennedy in the interview.
