Angry Bayonetta fans accuse Nintendo of censoring the witch’s very sultry appearance.
A few days ago, Nintendo revealed the release date of Bayonetta 3 in a more than interesting trailer, especially since it presents us with a very special game mode. Baptized “Naive Angel”, it allows when it is activated to cover certain parts of the body of Bayonetta, usually subscribed to sulphurous outfits. A game mode that has not failed to make purists and lifelong fans react.
Relax, the witch is back and sexier than ever

Because Bayonetta, in addition to an electric gameplay, it is above all a strong visual identity, based on the rather sexy character of the main character. Such a change therefore, although optional, has the effect of a bombshell with the community. And if we are used to Nintendo’s fairly puritanical ways, we should know that the firm has nothing to do with this story, despite the many criticisms that have been pouring out on the networks for a few days.
Nintendo wanted to see more
It is Hideki Kamiya, game director at Platinum who confirms this information on Twitter. In a post written in Japanese (and translated into English by Nintendo Everything), he says that this is a particularly innovative initiative that comes from the development studio itself and not from the publisher. On the contrary, Nintendo would have for once appreciated a little more nudity. He explains :
“I see a lot of people bringing up Nintendo when it comes to talking about nudity in Bayonetta, but when we were working on porting Bayonetta 1, Bayonetta 2 and Bayonetta 3, the only suggestion we got was for the costume of Link in Bayonetta 1 and 2, and the fact that he should have been a bit more revealing. No bias influenced this aspect of the game, and I think players can enjoy it without worrying about what it might have been.”
Finally, you just have to keep in mind that this mode is completely optional, and that it is still relevant for those who want their children to play with peace of mind. To discover Bayonetta 3see you next October 28 on Nintendo Switch for a Halloween party under the sign of magic.
