“The Hacker with a Spade” : here is the name of the 75-year-old Georgian who caused a one-day internet shutdown throughout Armenia in 2011. Indeed, while looking for copper in old cables to resell it, she severed a fiber optic cable in the village of Ksani, Georgia.
The fiber optic cable in question came from Bulgaria to Georgia. He was in charge of supplying the Internet not only to Georgia but also to Armenia. And this woman having cut the cable in a border region between Georgia and Armenia, it is the latter who had to pay for the broken pots.
Very rare, this incident caused the amazement of all the leaders of the suppliers. This cable is indeed very difficult to damage. This Georgian who was facing three years in prison was finally released because of her advanced age.
