This is the time of year when some states are offering tax holidays on a range of consumer electronics products, allowing for some duty-free Apple purchases.

This year, nine states are offering the option to buy at least some Apple products without paying sales tax on purchases…

Sales tax holidays

Tax holidays are a way for US states to encourage spending on categories of products that they deem necessary or desirable for citizens. These can range from emergency generators to school supplies and computers.

New York was the first state to introduce tax holidays in 1997, and other states have followed suit.

Each participating state has different program start dates for different types of products, but nine of them allow you to make duty-free purchases for various categories of products sold by Apple around the same time – starting today.

Please note that some states have maximum spending limits for certain products, especially computers.

Apple has a webpage promoting deals.

Innovative. Powerful. And now without taxes.

Suitable products vary from state to state. And while the tax savings on your order may not show up on purchase, they will appear on your final receipt.

The company also highlights additional ways to make your money go further.

Get supercharged for college. Save to Mac or iPad. Plus get a gift card worth up to $150.

Get 3% daily cashback with Apple Card. And pay incrementally, with no interest, if you choose to pay with monthly Apple Card payments.
