Because of the similarity to the Amazon series The Boys, Hideo Kojima says he has put a game concept on hold.
Kojima almost retold The Boys story
Taking to Twitter, Kojima said: “‘THE BOYS’, I stopped after 3 episodes of Season 1. Thought I’d watch the rest of the series. In fact, I watched a few episodes that were delivered at the time I wanted to start a project that I had been warming up for a long time”.
He then scrapped the concept because it was too similar to the plot of Amazon’s superhero series. Kojima also wanted a special group of detectives to compete “against legendary heroes behind the scenes”. He would have wished for Mads Mikkelsen as the main actor.

It is unclear whether Kojima means a game or another medium with this concept. Now the developer genius is working on the recently confirmed cloud-based game for Xbox. With an official license, I could still very well imagine a game based on The Boys. You too?
If you haven’t seen The Boys yet, you can find the series on Amazon Prime. I’ve watched all of the seasons and highly recommend them to anyone who likes superpowers, violence, and plot twists.
