A new version of the Recovery Menu has just been proposed for the Nintendo Wii U by GaryOderNichts, this is version 0.2 of the menu which can be used to recover a Wii U, especially when using Coldboot Haxchi incorrectly.
This new version includes the possibility to configure the age limit, while Windows line endings (CLRF) in the network.cfg file no longer cause problems.
Additionally the recovery_menu_dc_init file can now be renamed to recovery_menu, and thus be used to initialize the display controller, which should correctly display an image on an unconfigured Wii U.
Changelog:
– Added “Change Parental Control” options.
– Support Windows line endings (CRLF) in network.cfg.
– Added an experimental initialization version of the view controller.
– Some Wii U will not display any TV output if not configured correctly first.
– This release shows controller initialization and may fix the issue. Note that this version only outputs 480p and has no GamePad output.
