It is as part of its Galaxy Unpacked conference that Samsung will present its new folding smartphones on August 10, but also its new generation of connected watches.
We had already discovered the Watch 5 during a first leak of visuals, but now it is the technical sheet that is revealed in part, and in particular the battery of the watch.
We thus learn that the Watch 5 Pro should have a battery with a capacity of 572 mAh, which is a significant advance over the previous generation. The capacity thus evolves by more than 60% which should make it possible to establish autonomy records for a watch under Wear OS.
Be careful, this is not to expect what Huawei offers with its Watch GT3 Pro and its 15 days of autonomy, but to offer up to 3 days of operation in one charge, while the competition under Wear OS is currently limited to a full day at best.
Wear OS is thus particularly interesting for its openness and the accessible functionalities, but it involves products that are not really models of autonomy…
Things could change, however, thanks to Qualcomm and its next Snapdragon W5+ Gen1 chip, which should be less greedy and allow access to 50% more autonomy.
