The next episode of the Grand Theft Auto license is eagerly awaited, since it has been almost ten years since the last opus, GTA V, was released. If Rockstar first mentioned it a few weeks ago, no official information has yet been given. But some details, from Rockstar employees, allow us to know a little more about this project..
A couple as protagonist
Journalist Jason Schreier has indeed carried out a survey, by interviewing Rockstar employees or people who have worked there, to find out what changes have been applied in recent years, particularly in relation to the crunch culture and the scandals that have took place in 2018. Thus, the studio has completely reviewed its way of doing things, to take a healthier approach, in particular by separating itself from people accused of abuse of all kinds. According to feedback collected by Jason Schreier, employee morale would be higher than everwhile the changes were worth it “.
Moreover, the latter communicated to him some GTA VI details, or whatever its name is, since Rockstar has also decided to apply these changes in its video games. For example, we should, for the first time, be able to play a woman, since two characters (at least) would be playable, including a woman of Latin American origin. The starred firm would have been inspired by Bonnie & Clyde to create these protagonists, again according to the employees interviewed. We would be immersed in an area resembling Miami, larger than any other game in the franchise, which will evolve over time. GTA VI is currently called Project Americas internally. Note that this information is not official, but is the most reliable we have had so far, since it comes from people more or less close to the project.

Finally, thanks to these exchanges, we learn that if the production is slow and that the news are few, it is in particular because of the pandemic, which slowed down the progress of the project, but also with the working methods which have changed as teams get used to the new way of doing things. But we might find out a bit more about GTA VI pretty soon, in a few months. However, its release is not to be expected before 2024, except for a good surprise.
