Hunter Moore

Hunter Moore (born March 9, 1986) is an American convicted criminal from Sacramento, California. Rolling Stone called him “the most hated man on the Internet”.[1][2][3] In 2010, he created the revenge porn website Is Anyone Up? which allowed users to post sexual and explicit photos of people online without their consent, often accompanied by personal information such as their names and addresses. He refused to take down pictures on request.[2] Moore called himself “a professional life ruiner” and compared himself to Charles Manson.[4] The website was up for 16 months, during which Moore stated several times he was protected by the same laws that protect Facebook.[1] Moore also paid a hacker to break into email accounts of victims and steal private photos to post.[5] The FBI started an investigation on Moore in 2012 after receiving evidence from the mother of one of the victims.[4] The site was closed in April 2012 and sold to an anti-bullying group.[6] In February 2015, Moore pleaded guilty to felony charges for aggravated identity theft and aiding and abetting the unauthorized access of a computer. In November 2015, Moore was sentenced to two years and six months in prison, a $2,000 fine, and $145.70 in restitution.[7] He was released from prison in May 2017.

Dude who ran a revenge porn site is sentenced to prison

Must also undergo a forensic psychiatric examination

An American man whom the media has called “the Godfather of Revenge Porn” has now been sentenced to two and a half years in prison in an American court for running the now-closed revenge porn site IsAnyoneUp. In addition to prison time, the man’s mental health will be evaluated during his prison stay and once he has served his sentence, he will be on parole for three years. The man allegedly not only ran the revenge porn site, but also, together with another man, hacked women’s e-mail accounts to find compromising images that he could publish on his site. The other man has previously been sentenced to two years in prison for data breaches. However, it can be said that this man got away relatively cheaply if you compare it to another American man who ran a revenge porn site who was sentenced to 18 years in prison earlier this year. However, that man also allegedly tried to blackmail the women whose pictures he published on his site.

23-year-old charged with revenge porn

Posted nude pictures of ex-girlfriends

A 23-year-old man is now being prosecuted in Malmö District Court for so-called revenge porn after posting nude and sexual images of two of his ex-girlfriends on an online forum. It is about two girls who are now 20 and 21 years old, with whom the man previously had a relationship. It was a friend of one of the girls who discovered the pictures online and then warned her and she in turn contacted the other affected woman. The man has admitted that he posted the pictures online but he has not been able to say why he did it. He will now probably be sentenced for either defamation or molestation, it is still a bit unclear how crimes like these are judged in Sweden.

Man sentenced to 18 years in prison for revenge porn site

For blackmailing the victims

A 28-year-old American man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for, among other things, running a so-called revenge porn site where he published pictures of mostly scantily clad women that he came across through ex-boyfriends and in other ways. He is said to have also offered a service where the women could have the pictures removed from the site for a few hundred dollars, and therefore he is convicted of extortion. The man was also convicted of 21 counts of identity theft. The site in question was shut down in 2013 and is said to have then contained tens of thousands of images of mainly scantily clad or naked women.
