The leaks have come true and with August’s PS Plus Essential games there are some worthwhile titles again. There is something for action fans as well as adventure and skateboard fans.

Already yesterday spoke Leaker billbil-kun via the French tech magazine Dealabs from the potential PS Plus titles. So next month, in addition to Yakuza: Like a Dragon, we’ll also be able to download the younger Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 and the horror puzzle platformer Little Nightmares.

New PS Plus games in August: The three fresh titles at a glance

The action-packed, but turn-based role-playing game Yakuza: Like a Dragon made its debut in 2020. In our test at that time, the game already convinced with its combat system, but weakened somewhat in the technical implementation. Anyone who owns Xbox Game Pass has been able to play the title as a subscription for some time.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 was released last year and fulfilled the dream of a pretty solid remake for nostalgic skateboard fans who want to take their passion to the screen. The board was able to completely convince us of a new edition in the test.

Little Nightmares was first published in 2017, and the second part has been available since last year. For anyone who missed the start of the horror-tinged puzzle platformer, the PS Plus Essentials Pack is the perfect opportunity. The fantastic art design should primarily appeal to fans of Limbo and Co., as it also impressed us in our test.

PS Plus Premium and Extra: download title still unknown

With the changes to the PlayStation subscription service, there are no longer just one, but two announcements from Sony per month when it comes to new downloadable titles. This should also be the case this time, because apart from the games that we get with the Essential package, no other games are known.

However, if this changes in the coming days and the titles that we can download as part of the more expensive PS Plus packages are revealed, we will of course inform you immediately.
