This week, federal prosecutors announced that an Ohio man was sentenced to 35 years in prison for transporting a child in the bunk of his semi-truck for the purpose of sexually assaulting the victim. Joseph C. Gaines pleaded guilty in the case in November. In the summer of 2019, Gaines transported the 7-year-old in his semi-truck from Ohio to other states, prosecutors said.
