LONDON (Reuters) – London’s Metropolitan Police Service has been told to come up with an improvement plan and will be subject to extra scrutiny from a police watchdog after criticism over its handling of a string of high profile cases. Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services said in a statement on Tuesday that the Met was being monitored through its ‘Engage’ process. The process “provides additional scrutiny and support to help it make improvements,” the watchdog said. Their statement did not detail what had triggered the move.
