HTC presents a Desire 22 Pro smartphone which does not display flagship ambitions given its technical characteristics and price. It is a mid-range device. A purpose of the brand is to make it the companion of its Vive Flow immersive VR glasses and for access to the Viverse which embodies its vision of the metaverse.
The smartphone benefits from HDCP 2.2 connectivity to wirelessly broadcast content from platforms such as Twitch, Disney+ and Netflix. It can also power them – or other devices – through reverse charging with a 4520 mAh battery.
The HTC Desire 22 Pro comes with various pre-installed apps for the Viverse, managing content in the metaverse, creating your own virtual space, and configuring devices like Long Live Flow. A digital wallet allows you to store crypto-assets, buy NFTs on a marketplace.
Besides the metaverse hype
Beyond this atypical (and niche?) positioning, the smartphone displays on a 6.6-inch screen with FHD+ definition (1080 x 2412 pixels) and 120 Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with a Snapdragon 695 SoC (5G) associated with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
The rear photo part is made up of a 64-megapixel main module, 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and 5-megapixel depth detection sensor. For selfies, it’s a 32-megapixel photo sensor.
Certified IP67 and weighing 205.5 g, the HTC Desire 22 Pro will be marketed in France at a price of €449 and on a date that has not been specified. HTC, however, mentions promotional offers for a pre-order before July 31 on his website.
