Microsoft has released a couple of fresh test builds of Windows 11 – 22622.440 and 22621.440. They are designed for members of the Windows Insider Program, who are among the first to get access to bold experimental innovations in the operating system.

A modified taskbar has been added to build 22622.440. Now it has expanded space for placing icons of running or pinned programs. Icons that do not fit the width of the panel can be seen by clicking on the ellipsis.

This innovation will be appreciated by owners of devices with small screens. According to Microsoft, the new taskbar will initially appear only for some users of this assembly, and after a while it will become available to everyone.

Both builds have added miniature interactive widgets on the taskbar. With their help, instantly receive information about the weather, news and sporting events.

These builds also fixed previously found bugs and made improvements to the user interface. For example, a radically changed menu appeared for choosing the program with which to open the file. The old menu was transferred to Windows 11 from Windows 11, and the new one is adapted to the design of the modern operating system.
